In 1965, Gordon Billy Gatu, a teacher at St. Barnabas' School at Alangaula (q.v.) on Ugi, after a refresher course at British Solomons Training College, attended a course in Science in Education for teachers in rural areas taught at the University of Reading Institute of Education. He died in September 2008.
