Catholic Bishop Stuyvenberg formally opened the Villa Maria Teacher Training School at Visale on 18 April 1963. It was built on the foundations of the old cathedral that was destroyed during the Second World War. The first principal was sister Mary Dismas. Ten graduates from the previous year were already teaching in mission schools and a new intake of four sisters and thirteen girls were ready to begin study. (NS 30 Apr. 1963) See Visale.
