The Evangel the main ship of the South Sea Evangelical Mission. The Evangel was a purpose built 16.7 metre long ketch-rigged vessel with a 20 horse-power Gardner oil engine, donated by supporters in 1906. The new ship, with comfortable accommodation and , 1920s, courtesy of SSEC.
