Ben Tumulima was born in 1928 on Nggela and was educated at All Hallows' Primary School at Pawa (q.v.) on Ugi. He was President of the Nggela Council (1971-1974), and in 1976 was elected to the Legislative Assembly (q.v.) as member for Nggela. (SND 9 July 1976)
