Details
Born in 1902, Harry Reynolds became an Anglican priest in 1930 and joined the staff of the Melanesian Mission in 1935. He spent several years in the New Hebrides before starting work in the Solomon Islands in 1940 at Siota Catechist College. He became Archdeacon of all the Solomon Islands in 1946, a position he retained for fifteen years until he became Vicar-General for the Diocese. He was Archdeacon of the Central Solomons and became Archdeacon of Honiara in 1967. In 1970 he retired and became Archdeacon Emeritus and chaplain of Fauabu Hospital on Malaita. Reynolds returned to New Zealand in 1977 and died on 13 July 1978 in Auckland. (NS 15 Dec. 1970; Terry Brown, personal communication, 31 Sept. 2011)
