Biographical entry: Piliniuna

Details

Sergeant Piliniuna joined the Armed Constabulary in Tulagi in 1939. When the Japanese invaded he joined the Defence Force and Major Donald Kennedy's scouts at Seghe in New Georgia. He was promoted to Corporal in 1944. In 1945, he rejoined the police and in 1949 became Sergeant, and then Acting Station Sergeant in 1955. During his career he served on many stations in the Protectorate. He was given command over of Maka Police District starting in 1954, and in 1958 he was awarded the Colonial Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. He retired at the end of 1962.
