Details

Father D. J. Moore arrived in the Solomon Islands in March 1938 as part of the Marist Mission. He was taken to Visale, the resident seat of Bishop Raucaz, Vicar Apostolic of the Solomon Islands. He was assigned to Tangarare on Guadalcanal and had to learn the local language, Ghari, which was spoken or understood from Point Lungga to Cape Hunter.
