Biographical entry: Kwanairara, Naphtali (1921 - )



Naphtali Kwanairara was born in 1921 at Malu'u in north Malaita, son of Heman Ganisua Ioi from SSEM Onepusu Mission and Rachael Abisato, who was born in Queensland and had returned to Malaita in the early 1900s at age eighteen. His father worked for the government at Tulagi. Naphtali married Bethesta Biriti from Malu'u and they raised a large family. He, too, worked for the colonial government, for thirty-six years, including as a police clerk and a Treasury accountant.
