Henry Raraka Koga was born at Siarana village on Nggela Island and educated at St. Mary's Primary School at Maravovo and at All Hallows' Secondary School at Pawa (q.v.) on Ugi. He received a certificate in commerce from Lae Commercial College in Papua New Guinea in 1969, and the next year joined Guadalcanal Plains Ltd. as a junior clerk. He became Industrial Relations Manager at Guadalcanal Plains Ltd., and received an M.B.E. in 1976. He was also Chief Scout of the Solomon Islands. (SND 18 June 1976)
