Biographical entry: Jugha

Details

Jugha was a young Marovo slave taken from a village south of Vanhanu, who was later given to the Seventh-day Adventist Mission for education at Telina school. In 1920, he volunteered to begin Adventist Mission work on Choiseul, where he worked alone for one year, joined in 1923 by Kioto and his wife, and Nangaha, and in 1925 by Pastor Gray and his wife. In 1924, he married Vella and in 1926 began work at Talise, southeast Guadalcanal. (Australasian Record, 18 Aug. 1980, 12-13)
