Margaret Inagele from the Santa Cruz Island was one of the first Solomon Islands women to be sent by the government to study overseas, in New Zealand in 1964. She spent seven years at Queen Victoria School and returned to teach primary school at St. Mary's girls' school at Pamua on Makira. She later married George Worek from Mota Island and moved to the New Hebrides. (NS 31 Jan. 1964; Terry Brown, personal communication, 31 Sept. 2011)
