Details
The first forty Special Constables were sworn in at Rove on 13 March 1963: twenty-five Solomon Islanders, thirteen Europeans, and two Fijians. The Special Constabulary were only called out for duty on instructions from the High Commissioner, and were used for traffic duty, crowd control and other special circumstances.
