Kwong Chong Hotel in Chinatown operated in the late 1950s and 1960s, providing bar facilities and Chinese meals, but no accommodation. It was regarded as a rough bar and unsuitable for most foreigners. Most of Kwan Chong's business interests were in Gizo, where he was a business partner of Kwan How Yuen Ltd. Kwan Chong was one of the brothers of Kwan Hong, who founded QQQ Wholesale store in Chinatown. (NS Dec. 1966, Special Tourist Information Issue; Hudson Leung, personal communication, 14 July 2011)
