Place: Happy Isles

Details

The Happy Isles was a book published in 1965 by Dick G. Horton, a District Officer in the Protectorate from 1937 to 1942 and a coastwatcher during the war. The title was adopted by the fledgling tourist industry as the slogan to depict the Solomon Islands. The phrase has entered the vocabulary and is commonly used to describe the Solomon Islands.
