Details
High Commissioner D.C.C. Trench opened a new Fisheries Training Centre at Tulagi on 1 September 1961. It was run by the Food & Agriculture Organisation and the South Pacific Commission in conjunction with the Protectorate Government to provide students from around the Pacific with practical training at sea under commercial fishing conditions.
