Cultural Artefact: Baruku (Motor Vessel)

Details

MV Baruku, a sixty-six-foot general-purpose vessel owned by the Ports Authority, was wrecked on a Russell Islands reef on 25 January 1960. It was salvaged and repaired, and became the New Baruku operated by Kwan How Yuan Co. as a general trader until an engine room explosion sank it off Choiseul on 3 February 1965.
